  INSTRUCTIONS TO MAKE MOULDED CANDLES
STEP 1 -In the process of candle making, firstly prime a wick by dipping into hot wax twice or use pre-waxed wick.

STEP 2 – Preparing a Heritage 2 part mould.
Place you primed wick into the groove which you will find at the top of 1 of the moulds to be used in candle making. Secure wick into groove with masking tape and bring the rest of the wick up through the pour spout at the bottom of the mould. Snap the 2 parts of the mould together and place a pencil across the pour sout at eh bottom and tie the wick around it to keep it in position. Seal the sides and bottom of the mould carefully with masking tape to prevent wax from leaking. Place 2 large bull-dog clips on the bottom of the mould and stand the mould on a flat surface.

STEP 3 – Melting and pouring wax.
Break DCW 1 wax into chunks an dplace into a clean, dry, aluminim teapot and heat until wax is 82°C. Add HERITAGE DYES and/or FRAGRANCES if required. Pour molten wax into (prepared) HERITAGE candle making mould carefully.

Tap mould gently to release air bubbles and set aside to cool. After ˝ anhour use a knitting needle to make a hole alongside the wick to allow you to pour in extra wax (at 70°C) down the centre of the candle where a large hole usually forms while cooling. Repeat this process until “topped-up”. Remove mould when candle is completely cold. Trim excess wick away at the bottom of candle and to 8mm at the top of candle.

Rub base of candle on a very slightly heated flat surface to flatten neatly. Trim seam lines away with a sharp knife and polish with a damp with a damp cloth or stocking.

STEP 4 – Overdipping:
(Optional) If you require a coloured candle, dip candle in NICK'S CANDLE DIP and hang up to dry.
