| INSTRUCTIONS |
Clean surface with methylated spirits. Rinse well. Dry with a clean lint-free cloth. |
Draw your pattern onto the glazed surface with a black permanent marker and wait 20 minutes for marker to dry. |
Use a soft paint brush to apply CHINA GLAZE. CHINA GLAZE mus be applied very thinly. If your GLAZE is applied too thickly it will bubble when baked. |
Do not dip a wet brush into paint – this will affect adhesion – make sure that you dry the brush on a paper towel after washing. |
Brush strokes show so take this into account when planning your design. |
Blending of colours works well while paint is still wet. |
Do not rework an area – once the paint has started drying it will lift if you try to re-paint or blend colours. |
Double-load paintbrush rather than paint one colour over another. |
Colours are transparent – to obtain opaque colours, mix with Opaque Medium No 25. |
If you make a mistake, dip an earbud into water and rub mistake off surface. |
Wait till project is dry and then outline using LIQUID LEAD. |
Allow to dry for a minimum of 6 hours before baking. |
Preheat your kitchen oven to 180°C and bake the painted object for 45 minutes,
but KEEP AN EYE ON THE PAINTED OBJECT after 30 minutes and remove if
colours start darkening. |
