30 ml bottles Water-based 26 colours All colours intermixable Thermo-hardening – bake in your own home oven to set! Gloss finish Clean brushes with water Use on porous or non-porous surfaces such as Pre-glazed ceramic, glass, terracotta, china, tiles or metal

INSTRUCTIONS
Clean surface with methylated spirits. Rinse well. Dry with a clean lint-free cloth.
Draw your pattern onto the glazed surface with a black permanent marker and wait 20 minutes for marker to dry.
Use a soft paint brush to apply CHINA GLAZE. CHINA GLAZE mus be applied very thinly. If your GLAZE is applied too thickly it will bubble when baked.
Do not dip a wet brush into paint – this will affect adhesion – make sure that you dry the brush on a paper towel after washing.
Brush strokes show so take this into account when planning your design.
Blending of colours works well while paint is still wet.
Do not rework an area – once the paint has started drying it will lift if you try to re-paint or blend colours.
Double-load paintbrush rather than paint one colour over another.
Colours are transparent – to obtain opaque colours, mix with Opaque Medium No 25.
If you make a mistake, dip an earbud into water and rub mistake off surface.
Wait till project is dry and then outline using LIQUID LEAD.
Allow to dry for a minimum of 6 hours before baking.
Preheat your kitchen oven to 180°C and bake the painted object for 45 minutes, but KEEP AN EYE ON THE PAINTED OBJECT after 30 minutes and remove if colours start darkening.

TOP TIPS

  • Area to be painted must be perfectly clean so avoid fingerprints on the surface once it has been cleaned.
  • Rubber gloves may be used.
  • Paint brushes must be clean and dry before applying CHINA GLAZE.
  • Do not dilute CHINA GLAZE with water as this will affect adhesion.
  • Although non-toxic, CHINA GLAZE is not recommended for direct contact with food.
  • Pyrex glass does not allow good adhesion of paint.
  • DO NOT ALLOW painted items to soak in water.
  • Use a toothpick to scratch a design into the CHINA GLAZE just before glaze starts drying.
  • Try sponging on CHINA GLAZE for an interesting back ground.
  • When painting on porous surfaces, first seal the item with No. 26 Clear Sealer.

FREE HAND DRAWING
After cleaning the surface with methylated spirits, draw the design with a black permanent marker or China Marker
APPLYING CHINA GLAZE
If the design is hand-drawn, apply CHINA GLAZE with a paintbrush. If using a stencil, dab the CHINA GLAZE on with a sponge.
TRACING A DESIGN
After cleaning the surface with methylated spirits, tape transfer paper onto the object and trace the design on the object.
SPECIAL EFFECTS
Add details and outlines to your design by using a fine paintbrush, painting the detail free-hand style. Create outlines with a fine-tipped applicator bottle filled with CHINA GLAZE. Create highlights by adding opaque medium (no.25) with a round brush.
